Since 2004, Pierbridge integrators have installed thousands of on-premise Transtream solutions in medium to large size retailers, manufacturers, distributors, and financial service companies who trust Pierbridge technology to process over 100 million shipments every year. Last year, Pierbridge launched Transtream Cloud, a TMS platform with many innovations that enable smaller businesses to more effectively manage transportation and logistics processes to compete in the eCommerce world.
“Streamlining shipping processes requires real-time integration with local order data, as well as scales, label printers, and material handling equipment. This has always been an obstacle for businesses wishing to use more affordable Cloud solutions,” says Malley. “Our patent pending Internet of Things (IoT) HubCapp technology enables Transtream Cloud to connect to local data sources and devices, securely, across the Internet and supply chain without having to incur the costs of an on-premise installation.”
In addition to integrating with “things”, Transtream has made it easier than ever for shippers to connect with a wide range of new carrier service offerings. Pierbridge has added regional carriers such as LSO, Deluxe Delivery Service, Dicom, OnTrac, SpeeDee, and hundreds of other parcel, freight, and courier services.

“Transtream automates our customers’ rating, shipping, and tracking processes while enabling them to take advantage of our cost-effective and personalized regional delivery services,” says Rick Jones, CEO of LSO. “We live in a multi-carrier world where customers now have additional choices for their parcel carrier and fortunately, Transtream greatly simplifies the overall shipping experience.”
Another innovation that Pierbridge has introduced is “Composer”, a flexible design studio that adapts Transtream apps to customer work flows. “Omni-channel logistics is now a reality,” stresses Malley. “Businesses need to be able to rate and ship from anywhere to anywhere, including warehouses, desktops, stores, or websites. Composer drag and drop tools adapt the look and feel of our apps to the way our customers want to work.”
Together with HubCapp, Composer allows users to embed interactive “widgets” within their websites to automate rating, shipping, and returns— turning them into sophisticated transportation Hubs. In one instance, a dental lab wanted to create a “shipping portal” on their website to help their dental office clients ship dental material to the lab. “Within minutes, our dental lab customer was able to embed a “plug and play” shipping widget into their website, making it more convenient for dental offices to ship material to the lab, reducing customer service staff, and driving more traffic to the lab’s website,” says Malley.
To expand on its success, Pierbridge aims to establish a SMB presence within the NetSuite community with pre-built connectors and apps. According to Malley, “We want to make all of the capabilities enjoyed by some of the largest shippers in the world available to smaller businesses.”
